A message from Janet's sister, Linda:

My brave and beautiful sister lost her battle with cancer & now has begun her eternal life with her Lord. As most of you have followed her cancer journey, she has been such an inspiration to everyone! I just want each and everyone of you who have prayed for her, lifted her spirits with your kind words have meant to world to her and me! Thank you from the bottom of my heart

Last time I saw Jan I told her she was the bravest person I know. She said she was the most stubborn because she refused to give up. She said she had lived a good and honest life and couldn’t understand why she was given the burden she had to bear. She was strong, loving and a true friend. She will be missed by so many and we are better people for having known her. Safe journey Jan.

Janet, Marlene and I became good friends at South Elementary.  We were in some of the same classes together and also Brownies and Girl Scouts.  I hadn't seen her in many years when Marlene told me she had cancer.  We started corresponding, especially about the upcoming reunion.  She and Paul shared our table at the reunion and we all had such a great night.  One summer night when she was feeling good, she tried to call Marlene but called my number by mistake.  We talked for an hour.  It was the best "wrong number" phone call that I ever got.  I don't know how she did it, but she endured so much--always with such a great spirit and an even greater smile.  On Monday Marlene emailed me that Janet wasn't doing well.  I sent her a text and closed with "I pray that God will give you the gifts of comfort and peace this Christmas season".  Little did I know that He would give her those gifts the very next day.  Enjoy your Heavenly home, my friend.  Till we meet again, Marilyn
