 Keith H. Birdsall

Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away Friday, July 31, 2020; age 88 years. Keith was born on March 9, 1932 in Saginaw, MI to the late Howard O. and Ann (Phillips) Birdsall. He was married to Mary Gene Bierlein on April 11, 1953; she predeceased him in 1969. Keith was assigned to the 11th and the 101stAirborne Divisions in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. In 1972 he married Nancy (Stoddard) Moskal she survives him. A graduate of U of M he was employed by the Saginaw City School District for 44 years. His tenure included service as administrator, counselor, teacher, and coach. He was Director and Co-founder of the Center for the Arts and Sciences (SASA) from 1986-1999 when he retired. Keith was assistant principal of instruction at Arthur Hill High School and Director of Secondary Education. He received the award for ArtServe of Michigan naming him the 1999 Education Administrator of the year. Keith was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church where he served in a variety of capacities.

Surviving besides his wife are four children Susan Birdsall of Saginaw, Scott (Ann) Birdsall of Davison, Michele (Bill) Chernenko of Bay City, and Mark (Cassandra) Moskal of Dennison, MN. Keith is also survived by four grandchildren.

Keith was preceded in death by his daughter Sara in 2013.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions private family services will take place. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. John’s Episcopal Church of Saginaw Music Department or the Wickson District Library of Frankenmuth. Arrangements entrusted to Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth.
