I always liked Betty. We were both in Thespians, and worked together on Legenda staff.

Bette and I were classmates all through our school years. I have great memories of spending afternoons at her house to watch American Bandstand!. During the holidaysI can also remember a large snowman or Santa in her foyer that moved when the front door opened! She was a kind and gentle soul who inspired many of her students.

Big walleye caught in the rain and released unharmed up at Lady Evelyn Lake.

Caught this nice walleye on Lake Erie on December 3rd, 2017. It was a gorgeous day with temperatures in the mid-50s out on the water, light winds, and lots of sunshine. That night the temperatures dropped into the mid-teens and open water fishing was done for another year.

The finished design project being tested on the day of the big race. Wayne State placed second in their design report and third in the actual race against other canoes. Thankfully I was not required to be in the canoe during the race. Had that been mandatory, we might have all drowned.

Me with civil engineering students from my final semester at Wayne State University. I retired in May 2010 ... a few months after this pic was taken. The students were there to race their concrete canoe against those designed and constructed by other student chapters of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

The bio is his obituary, which I wrote (Martin Shackelford). Unfortunately, the index name is misspelled, but correct in the obit. To update, his wife died in October of 2017. Sons Martin and Alan continue to reside in Madison, Wisconsin. I would be happy to add a photo if that's possible.
