Hal Cederberg

Cederberg, Harold A. Jr. 'Hal', Saginaw and Bay City, Michigan. Beloved husband and father passed away late Tuesday, January 27, 2004, at his home with his family by his side. Age 56 years. Hal was born August 26, 1947 in Saginaw to the late Harold and Jean Ardern Cederberg. He was married to Lynn Marie Parker April 25, 1970 in Marquette, Michigan. Hal graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1968. He continued his studies at Northwood University, Northern Michigan University, and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Hal began his career in funeral service as the general manager of the Cederberg Funeral Home in Saginaw, and the Cederberg-Zucker Funeral Home in Frankenmuth. He served as President of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association, at the time the youngest funeral director in MFDA history to serve in that capacity. Hal purchased the Stapish Cederberg Funeral Homes in Bay City and Essexville in November 2001. He was a former active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw, and a member of many fraternal, civic and social organizations in both Saginaw and Bay City. Hal was an avid antique tin toy collector and music lover, and enjoyed traveling and entertaining. He was a kind and compassionate man who will be greatly missed. Surviving besides Lynn, his loving wife of 33 years, are his daughters, Mrs. Eric (Erica Amy Cederberg) Kaznowski of Bay City, and Ms. Kimberley Ann Cederberg of Saginaw; his granddaughter, and the light of his life Emily Jean Kaznowski; his sister, Ms. Martha Ann 'Marti' Cederberg and companion, Mr. Dirk Waltz of Linwood; his brother, Mr. Kim (Suzanne) Cederberg of Frankenmuth; his father- and mother- in-law, Mr. George (Lyda) Parker of Bay City; many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will take place 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2004, at the Stapish Cederberg Funeral Home West (805 East South Union, Bay City). Dr. Robert Emrich and Rev. Fr. James G. Heller will concelebrate with entombment to follow in Oakwood Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. OMG! I didn't know that Hal passed away.Hal was a really great person but you had  to know him to understand him. The last time I saw him he was working at Cases. God bless  you and take you under his wings.
