Donna Rae “Teach” Comfort, 67, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan on July 22, 1947, the daughter of Harold & Georgia (Terrill) Comfort. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor’s Degree and then went to Eastern Michigan University where she earned her Master’s Degree in teaching. Teach, as she was known by, went on to work at McKinley Middle School, Southwestern High School, Whittier Middle School and G.A.S.C. Tech Center all in the Flint area throughout her career. She had lived in Gladwin County since 1989, previously residing in Flint, Michigan and spent her winters in Bonita Springs, Florida. While in Bonita Springs she loved playing first base, golf, and tried to get into Pickleball. She also enjoyed and was pretty good at singing Karaoke. She was a member and past Madam President of F.O.E. Secord Lake Eagles 4121 Auxiliary, a member of the American Legion Post 439 in Saginaw, Moose Lodge 1611 in Bonita Springs, Florida, and a lifetime member of the MEA. She is preceded in death by her parents. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Saginaw, Michigan on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Those wishing to send an expression of sympathy in her memory are asked to consider Paws With A Cause or Hospice of Gladwin. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan.

I am sorry to hear of Donna's passing.  We were in the same circle of friends at Arthur Hill and have kept in touch on and off over the years.  She was so active and social in her adult life and I'm sure loved by her many students where she earned the nick name "Teach".
