Keith Duane Moore's Obituary
Keith Duane Moore, 72, of Hemlock, our loving, generous, spiritual, and most devoted husband, dad, Papa, Pops, brother, uncle, and friend went home to be with the Lord at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit on the morning of Thursday, September 12, 2019. Keith was born in Cheboygan on May 7, 1947, the son of the late Rev. Harry E. and Ella Rose (Sayer) Moore. He was a 1965 graduate of Arthur Hill High School and went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army, where he obtained the Expert Badge with Pistol Bar and National Service Defense Medal. While working at Michigan National Bank, Keith happened to meet the former Darlene Dawn Iseler around August of 1965. Their first date was on the evening before New Year's Eve 1966, and they were united in marriage on November 25, 1967, at State Street United Methodist Church, by Keith's father. In June of 1966, Keith began working at General Motors - Saginaw Steering Gear in Plant 2. He never left Plant 2 and retired in July of 1998. Shortly after his retirement, the plant was demolished. In his free time, Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening and was well-known for his meticulous lawn. He was a faithful member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and was active in Keryx Prison Ministry. Keith's love for his family, friends, and his beloved pets, along with his ability to relate to people from all walks of life will never be forgotten. Keith leaves to carry on his legacy, his loving wife of nearly 52 years, Darlene, and their two children: Jodi and husband, John Stemple and Christopher Moore. Keith was the most loving and supportive Papa of Abigail, Emily, and Nicholas Stemple, and Peyton Moore. His memory will live on in the hearts of his siblings, Suzanne (Richard) Hedglen and James (Jacqueline) Moore; in-laws, Shirley Wydra, Linda Longuski, Sandy Iseler, and Beverly Greyerbiehl, along with many nieces, nephews, and countless friends. In addition to his parents, Keith was welcomed home to heaven by his brother, Eugene Moore; father and mother-in-law, Edward & Elinor Iseler, and in-laws, Joseph Wydra, Jerome Longuski, Gene Iseler, Michael Greyerbiehl, and Curtis Iseler. Keith's family will be present to receive visitors at his second home, St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2565 N. Miller Rd., on Friday, September 20, 2019, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Saturday, September 21, 2019, from 10:00 AM until Keiths 11:00 AM Memorial Ceremony. Rev. Dr. Mark J. Hill will officiate with interment to be held privately in Chapel Hill Cemetery at a later date. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Henry Ford Hospital for their compassionate care. Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mark Lutheran Church or Keryx Prison Ministry. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services (formerly Reitz-Herzberg), 1550 Midland Rd., between State & Gratiot. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
