Obituary of Julia Ann Garno

Garno, Julia “Aunt Juju”

Kochville, Michigan

Our loving sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend passed away at her home on Sunday, February 23, 2025. She was 78 years old. Julia Garno was born on January 13, 1947 in Saginaw, Michigan to Arlene D. (Wackerly) and Stewart M. Rood. Julia graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1965 and went on to work at Kresge Store in Green Acres Plaza and Ray’s Food Center for several years. She married Dwayne Garno on November 27, 1991, and although he passed away on October 16, 2008, they shared many special memories together. Julia and Dwayne also ran Imagination Stain Glass for many years, building a business they both loved. Julia was a wonderful aunt, always cherishing time spent with children. She had a kind and giving nature, always ready to lend a hand to family in need. In her free time, Julia enjoyed swimming, playing BINGO, and collecting glassware, which brought her great joy.

She is survived by her siblings: Joseph C. (Jerrilyn) Rood; Ralph (Judy) Rood, Stewart Jr. (Judy) Rood, and Jennifer (Ronald) Milburn; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Marion (James) Trier; nieces and nephews: Jill (Ron) Fitch, Jeff (Sue) Rood, Jody (Bill) Henry, Ralph (Melissa) Rood, Caroline (Kimberly) Rood, Rebecca (Greg) Frank, Jennifer (Adam) Morris, Andrew (Jessica) Rood, Kristine (Tim) Ingram, Melissa (Marcos) Rodriguez, Amy (Chris) Rick and Dan (Sara) Bowen, many great nieces and great nephews; also many extended family and dear friends.

Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne Garno.
