Rich was one of my best "Buds" from elementary school through graduation. Following high school he went to work for General Motors and bought an awesome '63 Chevrolet SS convertible which he let me drive one night. We both went into the service in 1966 and shortly after that Rich was sent to Viet Nam. I was stationed state side working in a hospital and flying medical areovac on an H43B helicopter. Rich's last letter warned me about the perils of flying in helicopters especially in Nam. A few years back my daughter visited the "Wall" in Washington D.C. and brought home an etching of his name which I have hanging in my house. To this day I miss him greatly.
