Mary Winterstein (Wilder) - Class Of 1965

Mary Winterstein (Wilder)

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at her home. She was 78 years young. Mary was born on April 7, 1947, to the late Edmund and Bernice (Hunter) Winterstein. She was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw, where she began a life marked by confidence, charm, and her unmistakable vibrant personality.

Beautiful and spunky, her confidence and natural warmth made her not only respected in her work but unforgettable to those who knew her.

A devoted sports fan, Mary was an avid supporter of the Detroit Red Wings and rarely missed an opportunity to follow her beloved team. She often traveled to other states and attended training camps to watch them play. Mary also enjoyed working on puzzles each day to keep her mind active and deeply cherished her travels to Florida with her husband, James.

Mary was united in marriage to the love of her life, James Wilder, on February 1, 1969. Together they shared decades of laughter, adventure, and devotion. Her family was the center of her world, and she loved them fiercely. Whether she was laughing with them, supporting them, or simply being present, Mary's love was unconditional and unwavering.

She is survived by her husband, James Wilder; her daughter, Melinda (Todd) Becker; her son, Christopher Wilder; her two grandchildren, Brooke Becker and Brandon (Allison) Becker; and her great-granddaughter, Amelia Becker, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Brenda Platt. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Edmund and Bernice Winterstein, and her sister, Margaret Klein.

Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unforgettable memories. Her spirit, beauty, confidence, and joy will live on forever in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
